“Pup-Toberfest!” Raising Money for Mohawk-Hudson Humane Society

C.H. Evans Brewing Co. to Donate $1 Per Pint Sold During Week

ALBANY, N.Y. – C.H. Evans Brewing Co. at the Albany Pump Station has teamed up with the Mohawk-Hudson Humane Society this week for “Pup-Toberfest”. For the entire week, starting today, December 14 through Sunday, December 20, They Albany Pump Station will donate $1 for each pint of Oktoberfest sold.

The seven-day fundraising campaign has the potential to raise $2,500.

“As an organization, we know how important it is to give back to our local community and wanted to do something after reading stories in the news surrounding animal cruelty and abuse in the Capital Region, said Adam Sopris, Marketing Manager at C.H. Evans Brewing Co. “We connected with Mohawk-Hudson Humane Society and “Pup-Toberfest” was born.”

“The Society receives no funding from local, state or federal governments, so fundraising events like this are vitally important to us and to the animals in our care,” stated Brad Shear, Executive Director of the Mohawk Hudson Humane Society. “We rely on the generosity of the people and organizations of the Capital Region to help us care for the more than 6,000 animals that come to us each year. We encourage everyone to head to the Albany Pump Station, enjoy a pint of Oktoberfest beer, and support the mission of the Society to improve the lives of homeless and abused animals through sheltering, adoption, education and advocacy.”

Founded in 1887, the Mohawk Hudson Humane Society is the largest animal protection agency in New York’s Capital Region and serves as the SPCA for Albany and Rensselaer Counties, investigating and prosecuting cases of animal cruelty. The Society receives no local, state or federal government funding, nor does it receive funding from any national groups such as ASPCA or Humane Society of the United States.

The Society’s main facility, located at 3 Oakland Avenue in Menands, is open for adoptions seven days a week, Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. In addition, pets are available for adoption at the Society’s Saratoga Springs satellite facility at 4255 Route 50, Saratoga Springs and at the Everyday Adoption Center at the PetSmart store in Latham.
